Oxford – shopping
- punting in oxford uni (an oxford uni tradition)
- visiting oxford uni colleges (the backdrop of harry potter)
and all of it for free….! That is if you know any oxford students of course…otherwise it costs an average of 5 pounds to visit every college and it costs to punt too.. if you think oxford is amazing, yeah visiting is, studying there; I don’t know
Ø probably can get a job instantly
Ø the city is amazing, the very diverse of UK cities, clean and tidy too
Ø did you know that only the smartest students get on campus (in college accommodation), and by that I mean 1st class in oxford, that is…the size and magnificence of your room depends on your results.. 2.1 and 2.2 you live where the so called “dumb oxford student” lives, some blocks away
Ø did you know that your robes, indicate how smart are you in oxford, different classes shows in different lengths of robes which you have to wear for every official weekly dinner (I am starting to think its where harry potter got its influence.. every good deed you do, 50 points for the house! )
Nevertheless, oxford is an amazing place to visit provided you are a guest of an oxford student.. otherwise, be prepared to burn your pockets !
London
My second trip to London, and I found some of the hidden gems already! Hehe
Nice free stuff done on my second trip (yes I mean free in London, things don’t come cheap there – try walking through Mayfair 0.o)
-visiting Buckingham palace when the guard changes every morning at 11.30, whoever says its not worth watching, do not listen, that’s bullshit (observe below)
-visiting the Borough market, food galore! Imagine if I am a food expert! Every kind of cheese, meat, fresh chocolates! Tender, fresh and succulent burgers.. not that crap you get in fast food joints
-museums ( they are free – imperial war and british museums ), not like the usual crap we get in Malaysia, they know whats history, not some bloody ghost show (Egyptian sarcophagus’s and a whole lot more in the middle of London.. the English plunders everything there is around!)
-the Tour Le France, grand starting point is in London this year, and I was in town! Once in a lifetime, would not be getting another opportunity to watch the tour life since ain’t into cycling! Punting and cycling, wtf….!
Other misc: jogging in hyde park, window shopping on Bond and Oxford streets (pity, will never shop there now or in any foreseeable time in the near future, that is at least until I strike oil/gold in my backyard!)
It was a BLAST. Almost every stone has been turned, been there, done that!
For now, klang town, here I come! – laksa chi liung anyone?
